Why does the city need to modernize its route network?

The historically formed route network of most cities no longer meets actual demand: districts grow, points of attraction shift, and routes remain the same.

Justified subsidization is one of the main results. Modernization makes the spending of budget funds on passenger transportation transparent and maximally effective.
Speed and optimization
We eliminate route duplication, improve passenger interchange, and increase travel speed by implementing priority for public transport.

The composition and depth of the stages are determined individually, depending on the project goals, city size, and available data volume.

What are our solutions based on?
The quality of the route network is determined by the quality of the initial data. We do not limit ourselves to manual measurements and form a comprehensive evidence base for accurate modeling.
Big Data from mobile operators:
Anonymized data allows us to see the real picture of pendulum migration – where, where to, and at what time citizens travel.
Transactional data:
Analysis of fare payment systems and dispatching data to assess real passenger traffic on routes.
In-depth social surveys:
Identifying travel motivation and passengers' willingness to transfer – things that are not visible in dry digital footprints.
Field surveys and UAVs:
Video analytics and drone footage for accurate counting of flows, delays, and occupancy of bus stops.
Digital Cartography:
Digitization of urban planning data and its consolidation into a unified database suitable for calculations.

Team Experience
UTD specialists have over 15 years of experience working in quasi-governmental structures and public transport and traffic management organizations. Their professional experience includes the development of comprehensive passenger transport development schemes (KSRPT) for Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Kokshetau, and Turkestan.

  • It shapes international standards and best practices in the industry, conducts research projects, and training programs through UITP Academy.
